Nicola will represent the nothern region as the NQ Subchamber Finalist competing for the QLD Country Life "Miss Show Girl" title.   Congratulations Nicola!

STUNNING SHOW GIRL WINS

Nicola Lister, a young apprentice hairdresser, was announced as the Cairns Miss Show Girl 2008 at a glittering Cocktail Party held at the de Jarlais Function Centre located at the Cairns Showgrounds on Thursday, 19^th June 2008. More than 120 people watched as she was presented her sash and Natalia Gomez, Miss Show Girl 2007, handed over her reign. Nicola then had to represent Cairns Show Association at the Ingham and compete for the NQ Sub Chamber Finalist. We are proud to announce that Nicola won and is now bound for EKKA to represent the Northern Region and compete for the QLD Country Life “Miss Show Girl” title.

SHOWGIRL ENTRANTS ON SHOW

Entrants Sally O'Brien, Elise Preo, Wendy Kobiolke, Kylie Mayer, Rhiannon Connors and Natalia Gomez were excited and a little nervous on the day, but were beautiful and the Cairns Show Association are lucky to have such wonderful girls vying for the title of Smithfield Centre Miss Show Girl along with Lauren Fryer, who unfortunately was unable to be there on Sunday. 

The introduction of Miss Show Girl Entrants took place at the newly renovated end of the Smithfield Centre. The seven Miss Showgirl entrants make a very pretty sight, said Cairns Show manager Mark Bryant.

“We’re most fortunate to have such beautiful ladies vying for the title of Miss Showgirl 2007.

“Miss Showgirl is an integral part of the Cairns Show and becomes the ‘face’ of the Show,” he said.

“She will be very busy in the weeks leading up to it and during the three days of the Show she’s on the go the entire time with trophy and ribbon presentations, formal functions and events.”

The final judging takes place at the Cairns Show Offices and one of these seven beautiful girls will be announced as Miss Showgirl 2007 in a glittering ceremony on Friday evening 22nd of June at the Hilton International Hotel.
