Toyota V6 Hilux Heroes

The Toyota V6 Hilux Heroes will return in 2010. Toyota, along with some of Australia's top professional drivers have formed the V6 Hilux Heroes stunt driving team. These amazing drivers perform a variety of stunts, ranging from formation driving to reverse flick turns and high-speed crossovers.

The Cairns Post Main Arena is situated at the heart of the Cairns Show. This is the Hub of the action and entertainment during the daytimes and evenings. Each afternoon there will be a diversity of special performances to watch including Equestrian Events. This year's Equestrian Events will also feature a Pony Challenge with events including, Bottle Racing, Pyramid Race, Postman's Chase and Team Relay Bending. Night time performances will feature more breathtaking presentations such as Hilux Heroes and the Hastings Deering Skid Steer Salsa topping off with the nightly finale of a spectacular firework display brought to you by CEC Group.

Huge Fireworks Show

It's the nightly finale to the Cairns Show. Stunning is the only way to describe the sensational fireworks. Gaze in awe at successions of star-shells, dazzling roman candles and cascading fountain lighting up the sky in a kaleidoscope of colour to enchant you. This year Mike Newman from Xplosive Art has something special up his sleeve that's never been seen in Cairns before!!

Awesome Axemen

Precision, power, skill, speed and experience combine in an awesome display when 30top axemen from around Australia demonstrate their impressive craft, competing against each other in the Woodchop Competition. To win, competitors need experience, skill and brute strength. Always a favourite the Wood Chop, Tree Felling and Sawing competitions run throughout Thursday and Friday.

Chainsaw Championships

How fast can these high-performance chainsaws slice through a timber log? Don't blink! Their screaming machines spray woodchips everywhere through a haze of sawdust and slice through wood like it was butter!! Staged throughout the day in Centre Ring presented by Cairns Hardware and Pete's Mowers.

On Friday afternoon, following the Official Opening Ceremony, the sky will rumble to the sound of piston-engined World War Two fighters. These historic craft will make several passes over the Show Grounds reviving memories of a bygone era.

Equestrian

Each day between 8am and 6pm, check out some of the very best in Equestrian Events.

The Cairns Post Main Arena Equestrian Events are staged in four rings - providing visitors with non-stop events throughout the day.

Kicking off the Show on Wednesday morning are our Junior Show Jumpers in Ring One, have a look at some of the smallest horses you've ever seen in Ring Two when the Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies compete for Champion Ribbons. Miniature Horses have been part of Cairns Show since 1994 with some of these tiny creatures measuring just 28 inches.
