We are pleased to announce our 2010 Chair Master of Wine, Mr Andrew Corrigan, one of the principals of the 'The Harris Corrigan Wine Report' and contributor to the Brisbane Courier Mail and Cairns Post. Joining the panel will be Mr Anthony Hooper, Chief Winemaker for Orlando Wines and Mr Andrew Spinaze, Chief Winemaker for Tyrrell's Wines. Panel judges are supported by local and interstate Senior and Associate Judges. This highly esteemed panel will provide The Cairns Show Wine Awards with the integrity it has upheld as in previous years. Our Chief Steward for 2010 will be Mr Glenn Ellis. Entry details will be available shortly, please visit us regularly to check for updates Public Tasting - Saturday 26th June 2010 The focus of the show is not only to award Trophies and Medals to exceptional wines but also to promote the show in the local wine market and assist wineries with exposure in the region. After judging has finished the public are invited to attend our annual public tasting. 2009 Wine Awards visitors were treated to a variety of samples from Wineries as well as several local food producers. With hundreds of Grape Wines available for tasting upstairs and Fruit Wines and Local Produce downstairs, visitors were treated to a variety never before seen during the annual Cairns Show Wine Awards. The 2010 Cairns Show Wine Awards Public Tasting will be held on Saturday 26th June 2010. Tickets can be pre-purchased from the Cairns Show Office or at the door on the day. Wine appreciation workshops are also held during the afternoon, so why not join one of our notable judges for what has been hailed as a very informative information session and learn some of the finer points of Wine Tasting!! 2010 Entry is: $20 per person (pre-purchased) $25 per person (at the door) $20 per person for a group of ten (10) or more.
